Born in Raetihi, Katie Bates attended Ohakune primary school before moving on to Ruapehu College. After completing her education, she resided on a farm in Tangiwai and pursued a career in shepherding across the surrounding region. Katie has always been enamored with the outdoors and its natural beauty, which has inspired her lifelong passion for art. Through her art, she enjoys bringing her imagination to life and expressing her creativity.
